I started volunteering as a group leader for a beginning running program for adults. It was through this program that I started out running, and only two years after doing that program, I ran a marathon. I've always wanted to give back and help other people find the confidence to start running.
It has only been three weeks since that program started, but I look forward to it each week. It is inspirational to see the determination of these novice runners. I had been sidelined for a few weeks by a nagging hip injury, and getting my mileage and speed back up to snuff has been challenging. Now, when I go for a run and think, "Maybe I'll walk the next block," the thought of my new runners and all of their grit comes to my mind, and I am inspired to keep plugging along. I only hope that I am as encouraging to them as they are to me.

you are definitely inspiration to them!!!! For sure! Your project is great!
ReplyDeleteI can't run alone. Whoever running beside me give me the strength to keep my goals and run until it is done! That is the crazy thing about it, even with unknown people, they is nothing about competition but just a "let do it toguether" And it makes the difference. For my side I am far from the marathon tho :D just 10 km But i am getting closer with my "run" buddy.. He uncourages me cause he believes i can do it!
You are a leader Krippilicious!
You reap what you sow... Reap on, Kristi Poptart! You amaze me.
